Strawberry Huswife - Deborah Tirico

This sweet sewing kit it is based on the civil war huswif folding sewing wallet, an ideal place for your sewing accoutrements and a perfect gift for a stitching friend. This project is equally beautiful on a white or black background.

Students will learn to make freezer paper patterns, a placement guide template, embroidery guides and a variety of appliqué techniques including the tack stitch, needle slanting techniques, the quilters knot, and stuffing and layering methods for creating sculptural dimension in appliqué. A variety of basting techniques will be presented for increased accuracy along with surface embroidery stitches used in unique combinations. This is a beginning/ intermediate class.
