Come join the fun April 21-23, 2017 Registration Form
Walker Creek Ranch in the beautiful hills west of Petaluma, California, is wonderful in the spring. I invite you to come and stitch with a few of your GPR friends. The 2013 and 2015 Retreats were a blast. It may have something to do with the freshly harvested farm produce!
Every GPR member has an equal chance to join us, BUT these are First Come/First Serve Reservations, limited to 40. A wait list will be kept after space has been filled.
Deposits received for those on the wait list will be returned if not activated.
Please see details of registration dates, etc. below.
If you want to stay for the whole weekend or just for Saturday we would be so happy to have you relax, stitch and roam through nature with us. There are even 2 surprise mini-classes (optional, free, with full kit included) on Saturday. Did I mention treats, snacks and laughter?
Please choose from
Entire weekend, (2 P.M. Friday to 4 P.M. Sunday), all meals (six!) and your choice of a shared room, (pick your own 1 or 2 roomies) for $275.
(2) Join us for Saturday (9 A.M.- 10 P.M.) including lunch and dinner, for $80.
The non-refundable deposit is $50 for either choice and must accompany the reservation. Please remember: absolutely ONE PERSON PER FORM, ONE PERSON PER CHECK.
Check your calendar, choose your option and pick out your favorite jammies...the stitching room (right next to the sleeping quarters) is open 24/7 and some of us may be in there until we are cross-eyed, or the wine and chocolates run out!
The Fine Print
- You must be an EGA member to participate. Space in the playroom is limited to 40, and acceptances will be assigned in order of receipt of registration (see below).
- The balance due must be paid by March 1, 2017. Registrations not paid by then will be opened to the wait list.
- Dishonored checks incur a $30 fee.
- Registration must be RECEIVED by February 1, 2017. There can be no exceptions.
Registrations may be sent at any time between now and February 1, but all forms received prior to the FIRST DAY of REGISTRATION on October 8th, 2016 will be counted as having been received on that day whether mailed or delivered by hand at the Region Meeting in Concord, on that day. Once the 40 spaces are filled, which includes both full and one-day guests, any registrations received will be on a first-come wait list and notified if there are any cancellations. All registrants and wait listers will be notified of their position upon receipt of their registration, but no earlier than October 8, 2016.
Some details about our Retreat at Walker Creek for those who have not yet played there in prior events.
Walker Creek Ranch is a working ranch, which accommodates students from the Marin County Schools, weddings, business and social groups and stitchers! The kids stay in bunk houses, we have simple, comfy suites. Each suite boasts a full kitchen, shared sleeping quarters (2-3 per each), comfy living room and multiple full baths. The suites are just steps away (on mostly level ground with paved walkways) from our Playroom.
The Playroom accommodates 40, with BIG windows (curious deer and fawns, raccoons, foxes and turkeys stroll by!). Ample outlets and lights abound, but your private battery lamp (or extension cord) may be useful. Wi Fi is nearly non-existent-yea!
Meals are served buffet-style in the Cafeteria, but you can forget images of plastic trays and surly wait-staff. Each meal is prepared by a trained chef and cheerful workers mostly from freshly grown produce and locally harvested ingredients. Special needs are accommodated, just let us know on your form. Desserts may be cookies, fruit, cake or ice cream. Wine is permitted at meals as well as in the Playroom and Suites. You may bring your favorite to share. GPR provides a snack and soft-drink table in the Playroom, and you are welcome to add finger-food items or special drinks. Coffee and tea are available all day in the cafeteria, and may be carried into the Playroom or suites.
Features at the Ranch include gentle hiking trails, a busy Turtle Pond and local wildlife (Jack rabbits, fox, turkey parades, raccoons, hawks, deer, bobbing quail families and more).
Your time is your own. Sleep late, stay up ‘playing’ all night, nap in bed, hike or lounge in the sun whenever you wish.
Ask anyone who has been to earlier retreats. It’s time for YOU to come play with us!
See you at The Ranch!
